The beer and spirits flowed at the Tracy Eagles Club this past Saturday. But there was a special kind of spirit in the air on this particular night — one that pulsed through an emotion-filled building that was unveiling a brand new look to the public.
Ten weeks after Eagles do-it-all member Steve Meyer was killed in a motorcycle crash south of Tracy, his former club and friends honored him with an open house that also debuted a new bar area, which was a project Meyer spearheaded and looked forward to showing off.
“Steve would be pretty happy with this,” Eagles member Jeremy Trulock said of the new bar area. “He worked really hard on it. We had people ask us all the time, ‘Why don’t you guys do a new bar?’ He designed everything.”
