The filing period for municipal and school district offices opened July 30 and will close on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
For local school boards, there are four seats that will be open this election for the Tracy Public School District (No. 2904). The terms of Ben Ludeman, Matt Surprenant, Jay Fultz and Nicole Swanson all expire at the end of this year. Swanson has served since 2009, Ludeman since 2013, Surprenant since 2015 and Fultz since 2017. As of this week, there have been no fillings; same for the Milroy School Board, which will three open, four-year seats that are currently filled by Ashley Christensen, Alicia Eliason and Kim Jenniges.
Three seats will also be up for grabs on the Tracy City Council — those seats are currently filled by George Landuyt, Seth Schmidt and Brian Hinrichs, who is completing the term of Tom Dobson, who gave up his seat when he accepted the community development director position in Tracy.
