The Lyon County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved a proposed stipend increase for contracted law enforcement services to multiple county municipalities for the next three years.
The original request was for a 3.5% increase in rates for next year, a 3.75% increase for 2026 and a 4% bump for 2027. The expiration for all five city contracts is 2024, so a renewal of the contracts needs to take place before 2025.
“Cities want to enter into a multi-year agreement, which makes budgeting easier for everyone,” Lyon County Sheriff Eric Wallen said.
