
Taryn Wittenberg feels right at home, not only at Tracy Area High School, but teaching eighth-graders. That’s because the way she sees it, that is the perfect age at which she can best build important teacher-student relationships.
“But they’re also learning at the same time,” she said. “And they want to learn; it’s really about fostering that love of learning.”
One of three new teachers at TAHS this fall, Wittenberg will teach eighth-grade Global Studies and English as a Second Language (ESL). As for the latter, she said she sort of stumbled into that field.
