Bollig breaks down grants, reimbursements for airport project

A number of airport-related items came before the Tracy City Council at its most recent meeting, and with council approval on five of five resolutions, airport improvements are becoming more and more a reality.

The resolutions included authorization to execute a MnDOT grant agreement for the airport, excluding land acquisition to move ahead with rebuilding the runway.

“We’ve been identifying some deficiencies and realized that the airport runway itself needs reconstruction pretty soon,” said Bollig architect Angela Holm. “This grant pays for you to have a planning update and environmental and field study grant. This would take care of some of the environmental reporting, and it’s also going to get you reimbursed quicker on some of the things (the City) is already paying for (such as wetland delineation).”
