Joan Mitchell is no stranger to teaching. However, this is her first year with a classroom of her own.
Mitchell, originally from the Garvin area, has been a para professional and substitute for over 20 years. A graduate of Balaton High School, she recently attended Winona State University to get her K-6 teaching degree and license. After graduating in May of this year, she is now the new third- and fourth-grade teacher at St. Mary’s Elementary.
