Constance Marie Silver, beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully at home in Eagan, MN, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the age of 84.
Born in Tracy, MN on September 27, 1939, to Bernard and Nora Silver, she graduated from Tracy High School and St. Cloud Nursing School as a licensed practical nurse (LPN). She worked as an LPN at the beginning of her career, then became an insurance and financial services professional and received a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. She returned to nursing after her first retirement and became recertified at the age of 65 as an LPN, returning to the profession that had always been her passion.
Constance married Eugene Abram on April 4, 1959, together they had a daughter, Patrice and a son, Dominic. The family lived in the Twin Cities metro area and for several years in Cannon Falls, MN.
Constance was an avid participant in the Tracy, MN Box Car Days in her hometown, serving as Miss Tracy in 1957 and continuing her support over many years. She was an avid reader as well as problem solver. During her life, she invented a unique baby carrier, called the “Baby’s Nest,” for which she was granted a U.S. patent. In 1966, she won 1st place in the Minnesota Inventors Congress for the carrier and was the 1st woman to win the award at that time.
Constance will be remembered for her sweet smile, wry sense of humor and deep care for those around her.
Constance is survived by daughter, Patrice Spencer, Eagan, MN, son, Dominic Abram (Laura Torok), Roseville, MN, grandsons Alexander (Ava) Spencer, Richfield, MN and Sean Abram of Roseville, MN. Constance leaves behind two beloved brothers, Dr. James Silver, Col USAF (Ret.), Henderson, NV and Donald Silver, Olympia, WA and dear sister, Patricia (Jack) Misenti, St. Cloud, FL, along with many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jerome Silver, and Eugene Abram.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd., Eagan, MN on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 10:00 am, with visitation at 9:00 am. May perpetual light shine upon her.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to one of Constance’s favorite charities, the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or donor’s choice.”
