With a unanimous roll call vote, the Lyon County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved an ordinance adopting regulations on cannabis businesses within county boundaries.
The board opened a public comment period during the meeting, but there were no members of the public present.
The ordinance is designed to regulate cannabis businesses. To date, the cities of Tracy, Balaton, Florence and Russell have decided to delegate rules and regulations to the County. Cottonwood and Marshall will have their own ordinance, and Garvin, Ghent and Minneota have yet to decide how they will proceed, instead, choosing to wait on what the County decides to do. Also, letters to the 20 townships in the county have been mailed out.
