Thanks to the Minnesota Department of Transportation Safe Routes to School program, there will soon be a noticeable — and safe — link between Tracy Area Elementary School and Tracy Area High School.
The local project is a cooperative between the school district and City of Tracy. Tracy Area Public Schools Supt. Chad Anderson on Monday gave a presentation of the program and offered a high-level glimpse to the District No. 2904 School Board of where the walking paths will be.
Anderson said the District will be on the hook for 10% of the engineering costs ($27,500) for the $275,000 project.
