Richard was born on September 21, 1937 to Royal and Betty (Marcotte) Krueger in Tracy, MN where he was born and raised. He was baptized and confirmed into St. Mary’s Catholic Church and continued his membership throughout his lifetime. Richard graduated from Tracy High School in 1955 and furthered his education at Pipestone college where he earned his associates degree in carpentry. Richard and Ann Deiderich were joined in union on December 20, 1969 and just celebrated their 55th anniversary. He served in the military for the majority of his lifetime in the Navy, National Guard, and Marines. After his active duty he continued his involvement by working with the Disabled American Veterans services. Richard grew up on a cattle farm outside of Tracy where he developed a love for cows and a love for the outdoors. He spent his time participating in a number of organizations including Tracy Lions club and as Commander for the Tracy VFW Post, Garvin Legion, and as Regional District Commander for Disabled American Veterans. Richard enjoyed hunting, working on vehicles, cutting wood for multiple day bonfires, and most of all helping others was his passion. Following his military career, he worked as a custodian at SMSU in Marshall. Richard will be remembered as someone who loved to banter, a man whose happy face and humor shined through every single day, and for his empathetic nature.
