For the first time in four years, Tracy Area High School will compete in MSHSL-sanctioned one-act competition this year.

Director Kari Fransen knows that of the 12 students taking part, many have been on stage in the past. But one-act performances aren’t just about having fun singing and acting.

“This is a competition play,” said Fransen. “This isn’t just about getting up and having fun. If we’re going to compete, I want to take the best team with me that wants to win. We’re going to have fun doing it, but also I want kids that are willing to work hard. We’re competing against three or four other schools.”
