At the request of a downtown businessman, the Tracy City Council recently OK’d adding a fifth handicapped parking sign to the downtown area.

In a letter to the council, DDS Jon Heezen made the request for a sign to be added on the east side of 3rd St. in front of his practice at 212 3rd, writing that the “addition would greatly benefit our patients and demonstrate the commitment of both Prairie Lakes Family Dentistry and the City of Tracy to accommodate the needs of our community.”

Heezen wrote that his dentistry serves a diverse group of patients, including a significant percentage who are 65 years old or older — about 35% of his clientele.
