What do you do if you have 1,000 bottle caps and 1,000 pop tabs sitting around?
Why, create a mural, of course.
That’s exactly what a group of Westbrook-Walnut Grove students who make up the WWG-sponsored Earth YES (Youth Eco Solutions)! team did.
The mural, depicting a dolphin peeking above the ocean’s surface, is on display at WWG High School and will eventually be part of an art wall in a lean-to-type structure on the west side of campus for all to see.
The mural is designed to raise awareness of the impact of pollution on the ocean. The project encourages reusing everyday items and gives students a chance to make a positive impact in their communities.
