A community meeting concerning Milroy’s likely pending consolidation with Tracy brought out 70 community members Monday night to hear the future of the district. The meeting included discussion on three points: consolidation and the timeline, tax implications and what would happen to the building and property, which is owned by Milroy Public School.
Supt. John Willey walked through the consolidation process with those in attendance, including the timeline and background as to why the Milroy School Board has begun the discussions. Currently, Milroy Public School has 29 students in K-6th grade in the building, along with 12 preschool students. The district has tuition agreements with Marshall Public School and Tracy Area Public Schools for their students in grades 7-12.
