Like a shot of espresso, Arika Sanders is hoping to bring a burst of energy to downtown Tracy.

Sanders, a 1994 graduate of Tracy Area High School, has taken over the building most recently known as The Plaid Moose and is bringing with her fresh ideas she hopes will appeal to Tracy and area residents in her new coffee shop called Squatch coffee and eats.

“We are going to rebrand everything with some new colors, so it’s not going to be like The Plaid Moose,” she said while taking a break from her painting duties at the coffee shop Monday. “Refreshed and revived with the new brand. We’ll do some of the seating areas a little different — more couches and chairs where you can come in and chill out.”
