After graduating from Tracy high school in May 1951, she attended college of Saint Theresa in Winona, and college of Saint Catherine’s in St. Paul. Shirley graduated from Steward’s school in Cheney, WY, in July of 1955. Shirley was hired by United airlines and flew for five years out of Los Angeles, Denver and San Francisco. While in L.A., Shirley met her husband David Creagan at the United airlines ticket counter.
They were married in 1960 at our Lady of Guadalupe in Hermosa Beach, CA. Dave and Shirley had four children: David Michael and wife, Jennifer Lynn; Kimberly Daffin; Jon Creagan and wife Shahna Marie; and Scott Creagan and wife lillian Creagan.
Shirley had 11 grandchildren, Rylie Fugate, Cory Creagan, Abbey McCoy, Amanda Creagan, Maddie Creagan, Mckenze, Creagan, Brittney Simon, Colin Landen, Kylie, Josh and Brennen Sanders. Shirley, first and foremost was a homemaker. She raised four children, and she could always be found in the kitchen or at the ballpark. She watched all four of her children play sports her entire life from Columbia Little League to St. Joseph, Mac Hi and Fort Vancouver high School. Shirley spent thousands of hours in the bleachers watching Football, basketball, baseball and cheerleading. She watched hundreds of soccer, football, dance and singing recitals throughout her later life and loved spending the night to watch the kids.
The most important part of Shirley’s life was God. A member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church since 1964, putting four children through St Joseph’s school. She volunteered for many years and was very active in birth rights. Shirley always had a big smile on her face, always doing for others with Less. She carried a survival lunch bag in her car to give to those less fortunate. Shirley was such an amazing role model to so many and especially her entire family. Her heart and love for others will be missed, but will be cherished forever. Her family knows she’s in a better place as God is taking over the responsibility.
