Linda Rose Sharratt was born to the late George and Jennie (Monk) Scott on July 7, 1941, in Valley Springs, South Dakota. She attended public school, graduating with the class of 1958, a year early since she was the only student in her grade level. After graduation, she went on to study cosmetology at Stewarts in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After a few years, she moved out to a dairy farm with her first husband. Their union was blessed with four children, Pam, Mark, Scott, and Kathy.
Linda was known as a hard worker. She rose early to care for the dairy cows, and she tended a huge garden that produced an abundance to feed her family. She loved to bake, especially apple pie. Linda was a strong and loving mother. She used her knowledge and experience to serve as a leader for 4-H and always encouraged her children to work just as hard. Some of the kids pulled weeds from the garden to earn flower seeds as their pay.
She was baptized, confirmed, and married in the United Methodist Church. Linda loved celebrating Christmas. She would begin planning for the next year right after the holiday season was over. She would shop for just the right gifts and special decorations for the house.
On August 4, 2003, Linda was united in marriage to Lyle Sharratt. They spent many quality years together until his passing in March of 2017.
Linda passed away peacefully, with family at her side, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Jackson, Minnesota.
