A local concrete rehab project on a major highway that started in 2021 but was never finished is scheduled for completion by this fall.
In August 2021, MnDOT kicked off a then-$1.7 million concrete repair project on U.S. Hwy. 59 south of U.S. Hwy. 14. However, hidden issues discovered under the surface during roadwork — issues that if addressed then would’ve put MnDOT over budget — put the brakes on the project. The full extent of the damage wasn’t known until crews began removing the old concrete pavement.
