Wanda Lund, 79

Wanda (Hasz) Lund, age 79 of Walnut Grove, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society, Westbrook. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024 at English Lutheran Church in Walnut Grove with livestream available through the church link. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23 at Walnut Grove Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Private family burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Born on December 18, 1944, in Wessington Springs, SD, Wanda dedicated her life to caring for others. She served as a compassionate and skilled nurse for forty years, touching countless lives with her kindness and expertise. In her retirement, Wanda spent as much time as possible with her grandkids. She loved catching bigger fish than Greg, and was never far from a Western book. She also had a passion for gardening. She found joy and solace among her flowers, creating beautiful and vibrant gardens that were a testament to her love of nature. Wanda was the heart of her family, providing endless love, support, and guidance. Her legacy lives on through the values and love she instilled in her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her warmth, strength, and generosity.

Wanda leaves behind her devoted husband, Greg; two cherished daughters: Sara (Travis) Bitker and Jenny (Jared) Ackerman, both of Sioux Center, IA; the light of her life, five adored grandchildren: Avery, Kamdyn, Jaydon, Bryson and Caysen; sister, Cindy (Curt) Curr; brother-in-law, Mike (Nanci) Lund; many nieces and nephews; and forever friend, Mary Jane Belz. She is preceeded in death by her mother and father Richard and Elsa Hasz, step-father Paul; mother-and father-in-law Don and Lorrayne Lund, and sister and brother-in-law Julie and Clinton Swenson. Rest in peace, Wanda. Your love and light will remain with us always.
