Roadblocks have prevented the Tracy Development Corporation from getting a hotel built in Tracy for the last four years. Now, those roadblocks have been removed, and spring groundbreaking is planned for a new hotel in either one of two parcels of land along Hwy. 14: The City-owned area just east of The Cabboose (the small park would be re-located) or the Red Rooster lot, which is TDC-owned. TDC member Dale Johnson III was to give a presentation to the Tracy City Council on Monday evening (this week’s edition of the Tracy Area Headlight Herald went to press prior to the meeting because of the Thanksgiving holiday).
The completion of a 63-room AmericInn hotel with an indoor pool should come sometime in 2025, Johnson said. The TDC has a franchise agreement with AmericInn.
