Tracy Area Public Schools took another step toward the proposed Safe Routes to School walking path between the two schools Monday night during the regular school board meeting.

The District No. 2904 School Board approved $27,500 for engineering costs for the walking path from TAES to TAHS on Pine Street.

After discussions with the City, TAPS Supt. Chad Anderson said the path will be moved further north after concerns were raised by the board of the path being in low land of the ditch. The board also raised concerns to Anderson on the small corner path that connects Fourth Street to the TAES sidewalk.
