Holly Bakker, 49

Funeral service for Holly Christine Bakker, 49, of Tracy, MN will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Tracy Lutheran Church beginning at 10:30 a.m. Public visitation will held on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Horvath Remembrance Center in Tracy from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday morning at Tracy Lutheran beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at the Tracy City Cemetery following the funeral service. Upon conclusion of the graveside service a luncheon will be provided at Tracy Lutheran.

Holly Christine Bakker was born on July 4, 1975 to Michael and Sandy Donlon in Hornell, NY. She was an identical twin. Holly and her twin sister Stephanie had special needs. The sisters were put up for adoption with the condition that the pair would remain together. They were adopted by Guys and Irene Bakker in 1976 and moved to Chandler, MN. Guys and Irene had already adopted another set of identical twins with special needs. The budding family grew to have a total of eight adopted children with special needs in addition to Irene’s four biological children.

In 1979 the Bakker family moved to a farm near Garvin, MN, within a couple years the family relocated to their permanent home in Tracy, MN. Holly and her siblings attended the Tracy Public School system where Holly graduated from TMB High School in the spring of 1996.

Eventually, Holly moved with her twin sister and two of her adoptive sisters to what became their permanent home in Tracy. Since high school Holly worked for the DAC in Tracy where she did many different jobs throughout the community. This role led to Holly becoming popular in the community of Tracy, often being seen in public with a smile on her face.

Holly enjoyed music and dancing. She made many different arts and crafts during her down time. Holly loved spending time with her family, especially her sisters. Her favorite TV show was Henry Danger. Holly also enjoyed going to summer camps notable Shetek Lutheran Bible Camp.

Holly was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and had dementia, which progressed in the final years of her life. In December Holly contracted Covid, which progressed into Pneumonia.

Holly passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Morningside Heights under the care of Avera Hospice.

She is survived by her twin sister Stephanie Bakker of Tracy; adopted siblings Abby Bakker of Tracy, Cheri Lyn Bakker of Tracy, Suzanne Bakker of Tracy, Brian Bakker of Marshall, Jeff Bakker of Marshall, Jerry Clark (Valerie VanMeveren) of Ivanhoe, Lonnie (Vicki) Clark of Lake Placid, FL, Michael (Doreen) Clark of Tracy, Danny (Laurie) Clark of Ruthton; biological parents Michael and Sandy Donlon of Hornell, NY; biological siblings Jennifer Donlon of NY, Lindsay Donlon of NY, Michael Donlon of NY, Amanda Donlon of NY; many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and caregivers.

Holly is preceded in death by her adoptive parents Guys and Irene Bakker; adoptive sister Betsy Bakker.
