Moreover, Marvin was an active member of Tracy Lutheran Church where he volunteered as an usher and served for six-years as Trustee.

Marvin had a lifelong enjoyment of trains, receiving his first at the age of 10, and he also  built collections of belt buckles, toy tractors, and hat pins.  Marvin and Darlene were active members of the Currie Murray Mixers and Russell Slicks and Chicks, where they enjoyed Square Dancing the night away. Once a month, the couple also would work around the intense farming schedule and arrange a card game night where they would play 500 and spend time with many of their local farming friends.
