Dallas Martin Petit was born on September 2, 1939, in Currie, MN, to Lambert and Lily (Whitman) Petit. He was baptized in the Catholic Church and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church. He grew up and attended school in Currie. After graduation, Dallas attended the Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo.
On September 1, 1961, he was united in marriage to Linda Langland. Dallas liked to be busy and was a talented “jack of all trades.” He worked as a mechanic, drove milk truck and was capable at plumbing and wood working. He enjoyed summer fishing at the lake, working in his garage and watching birds. Dallas was very social. He was a volunteer Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, member of the Lions Club and served a term on the Police Commission. Although he could be stubborn and a bit feisty, he will be remembered as a good dad with a sense of humor. He loved his grandkids and great grandkids.
