Shirley Ann Mary Daniels age 81 of Tracy died at the Christian Community Home in Hudson Wisconsin on Thursday, August 16, 2018. She died peacefully surrounded by family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24th at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Marshall. Visitation is from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to services at the Kingdom Hall on Friday. Shirley Ann Mary Van Avermaet (Daniels) was born on May, 3, 1937 in Tracy, Minnesota to Maurice and Marie (Guers) Van Avermaet. Shirley’s mother died when Shirley was only 9 years old. Shirley’s older sister Anna and her husband Norman Johnson raised her with their sons.
She graduated from Tracy High School in 1955 and married Andrew Daniels on June 13th 1955. Shirley chose to be baptized in 1959 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and served Jehovah loyally the rest of her life. Shirley worked at the Tracy Hospital from 1968 to 1994 and enjoyed working in housekeeping, laundry, and the kitchen. She was a dedicated and loyal worker. After Shirley and Andy retired they enjoyed traveling to Arizona for a few months every winter, and also took many trips to Branson, Missouri. Later on in their years Shirley and Andy enjoyed sitting in their double recliner watching TV and holding hands. Shirley was a supporter of her children in all their activities. Many people knew when she was in the crowd. Spending time with her children and grandchildren were always a highlight with big meals always served around a big table with much laughter.
Preceding her in death were her husband Andrew Daniels, her mother and father Marie and Maurice Van Avermaet, her sister Anna Johnson and her two brothers Ceriel and Albert Van Avermaet.
She is survived by her children: Barry (Nancy) Daniels, Vicki (Keith) Hanson, Joel (Hope) Daniels, Neil (Shelly) Daniels, David (Becky) Daniels, Andrea (Doug) Bosacker, Mark (Kelly Villa) Daniels, and Kim (Dona) Daniels; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
