Two generations came together Friday night as the 1968 football Scrappers were honored at TMB’s homecoming game.

Fifty autumns had passed since a Tracy football crowd had last applauded the guys. But the former kids looked ready to again don their leather helmets and take to the field.
One-by-one, 15 members of the undefeated 1968 THS Scrapper football team were introduced to the homecoming football crowed at Tracy Area High School Friday night. Memorabilia displayed near the grandstand told the story of the Scrappers stellar 1968 season, in which the THS boys out-scored their eight opponents 265-33. A 40-0 trouncing of Marshall was among the team’s five shutouts.
“Aren’t you going to line-up and run a play?” someone asked.
“We need a football!” came the grinning reply.
