Lois Helen Bauer, born Lois Helen Clark, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018 at the Eden Valley Nursing Home in Mesa, AZ. She was born in Tracy, MN on October 5, 1926, to Benjamin and Bridgett Clark.
Lois spent her youth helping run and maintain the Clark’s farm in Tracy, where she also met her childhood sweetheart, and future husband, Melvin Bauer. Lois attended the University of Minnesota, where she earned a B.S. in Education and her M.A. in Library Science. After college, Lois married Melvin and started their family. She taught English in Young America, before moving to Winthrop to be with her husband Melvin.
In 1982, Melvin and Lois retired and built a winter home in Mesa, AZ, the city where they spent the last years of their lives. Lois was an avid reader, and loved to garden and cook. She was known for making incredible Easter dinners.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Judy and Ethel, and her husband.
She is survived by her children, Resa, Bert, and Bruce; and six grandchildren.
Services were held for Lois on November 9, 2018, in her hometown of Tracy.
