Kristin passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019.
Kristin Fayth Kaiser (nee Peterson) was born Oct. 27, 1950 in Tracy, MN to Duane and Marj Peterson. She was raised in Garvin, MN. She attended Garvin elementary school and Tracy High School. She was the Tracy Box Car Days Princess of 1968. She graduated from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN in 1972 with an English major and teaching certificate. Later that year she married Jim Kaiser from Oak Park, IL. She worked as a teacher’s aide in the Urbana Illinois public schools. She taught at St. Matthew’s catholic school in Champaign, IL. She moved back to Minnesota in 1975 with her husband. She earned her Masters in Education from Augsburg College and became a preschool director. She served in that position at Good Samaritan Methodist (Edina), All Saints Lutheran (Minnetonka), and St. Luke’s Lutheran (Bloomington). She was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in December 2018. She fought the disease with strength, grace, and dignity, continuing with the children and families she loved until she retired in spring, 2019. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Marvin and Ida (nee Stageberg) Peterson; grandparents, William and Bertha (nee Gilb) Manke; and father, Duane M. Peterson. She is survived by her mother, Marj Peterson, brothers Mark (Kathy) Peterson, Ivar (Diane Kemen) Peterson; husband James “Jim” Kaiser; children Christopher (Lisbet) Kaiser, Marjorie (Joffrey) Sarphati, Andrew (Krista Holen) Kaiser and Amanda Kaiser; grandchildren Leif Kaiser, Eva Kaiser, Mia Sarphati and Nico Sarphati; and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed for her warm, loving and accepting spirit by all who were touched by her life.
