Thomas Patrick Stimpert was born to Raymond Stimpert and Mary (O’Shaunessey) Stimpert on May 30, 1936. He married Nancy Naumann on February 7, 1959, they made their home in the Springfield and Tracy areas, and three daughters were born. He lived with his long-time significant other, Patricia Peterson, for over 35 years, residing in the Minneapolis area.
He proudly served as a U.S. Marine. Upon returning home, he went to school and obtained a degree as an Electronic Technician. After graduation, he joined his father, Raymond, in the family business, Ray’s TV, in Springfield, MN and served 21 years as a Springfield Fireman. He purchased the Island Bar in Garvin, Minnesota, in the late 1970s. In the mid-1980s, he and Patricia moved to the Cities where they lived. He owned and operated BP Vending until he retired.
Thomas loved spending time with family, gardening and vacationing with his grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed an annual vacation to Cancun, Mexico, and that’s where he earned his angel wings.
Thomas is survived by his significant other, Patricia Peterson; his daughters, Tammara Stimpert Schons (Scott Johnson) and Pamela (Kendal) Stimpert Cooreman; four grandchildren, Kayce (Rathana) Moua, Cole (Jenny) Cooreman, Cody (Kylie) Schons, and Chantalle (Tyler) Baer; eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; and brother, Dick (Bobbi) Stimpert.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; Baby Girl Stimpert; and sisters, Donna Morales, Jane Peichel, and Dorothy Karnick.
Funeral service is Thursday, November 14 with 11 a.m. -1 p.m visitation and 1 p.m. funeral all at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tracy.
