John William Miller, age 66, of Tracy passed away November 18, 2019 at his home. Due to weather, the celebration of life is postponed to a later date yet to be determined. John William Miller was born August 26, 1953 to Glen and Elizabeth “Betty” (Baumann) Miller in Granite Falls. He was baptized February 28, 1954 in Columbia Heights and confirmed March 8, 1964 in Tracy. John graduated in 1971 from Tracy High School. Following graduation, he attended AVTI in Alexandria and graduated in 1973. John later enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1976 and the U.S. Army in 1980. He was proud to serve his country. John was a former businessman in Tracy and owned Ken’s Wood Work. He also spent time as a school bus driver for TMB public schools in Tracy, Trucking for Brown Trucking in Springfield and as an OTR truck driver for several firms in Wisconsin and South East Minnesota. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and carpentry projects.
John is survived by his son Jarrod (Jen) Miller of Montevideo; grandchildren Janie and Jonnathan Miller of Montevideo; brothers: Jim (Ade) Miller of Fargo, ND, Thomas (Michelle) Buyck of Parker, SD and Tim (Jacqui) Buyck of Rosemount; sister Mary (Joel) Kildahl of Burnsville; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and step-father Eugene “Jiggs” Buyck.
