Cliff Deslauriers was born on February 13, 1941, on the family farm near Currie, Minnesota to Walter and Priscilla Beech Deslauriers. He grew up on the family farm and attended IHM Catholic School. On August 20, 1960, he and Lynnette Schoer were married at St. Ann’s Church in Slayton. Following their marriage, they made their home in Slayton until 1964 when they moved to Worthington, MN. In 1966 they moved to a farm near Currie and in 1972 they returned to Worthington for a year. In 1973 they returned to Currie where they owned and operated Cliffs Corner north of Currie. In 1984 they sold the business and moved into Currie. Cliff worked at Armour Meat Packing Plant which later became JBS in Worthington. He retired in 2008. Following retirement Cliff worked at Lake Shetek State Park for several years. In May 2021 due to declining health Cliff moved to Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy, MN for a short time before moving to Golden Horizons in Worthington. Cliff passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Sanford Worthington Hospital in Worthington at the age of 80. He was a member of IHM Church in Currie. He enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing, gardening, seining for minnows and shooting pool.
Survivors include his wife, Lynnette Deslauriers of Currie, MN, four sons and their spouses, Scott and Nancy Deslauriers of Mankato, MN, Steve and Laura Deslauriers of Howard Lake, MN, Stuart and Laura Mae Deslauriers of Currie, MN, and Shawn Deslauriers and Karin Radke of Currie, MN, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two siblings, Shirley Zimmerman of Bloomington, MN, and Mary Verstraete and her husband, Bob of Hugo, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Rita Chepa and Lois Larson and one brother, Raymond Deslauriers.
Memorial services were at IHM Church in Currie, MN on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating. The organist was Patty LeClaire. The song leader was LoAnn Hansen. Interment is at Calvary Cemetery in Currie, MN.
