The gym at Milroy Public School was back open to the public for its annual Veterans Day program this year, its first event since COVID-19 began.
After creating an online program last year, the students were happy to be back performing in person for the veterans.
Milroy Supt. John Willey was also happy to welcome back the public to the school and remind both the audience and the students the importance of Veterans Day.
“On Veterans Day we remember those that sacrificed both at home and overseas,” Willey said. “Veterans Day is a day for us to pause and observe those that have served and those that are currently serving and those that have died in serving our country. It is not a celebration of victory, but rather a celebration of those that made victory possible.”
