With poise, grace and a defining beauty that can only be described as arresting, Hannah Cuffcake captured the 2017 Tracy Miss Tootsie crown Saturday evening at Tracy Area High School.

out six equally-worthy contestants Saturday evening. The second runner-up was Polli C. Pixiesticks (Greg Carlson). And if for some reason Miss Cuffcake fails to uphold the integrity, glory and mystique that is Tracy Miss Tootsie, she will be usurped by the pageant’s first runner-up, Fiona Firebawl (David Nilius).
Three hundred-seventy six people filled the TAHS gymnasium for the show, themed “SweetTarts.”

The pageant included a special segment called “Project Runaway,” which included the contestants showing off hand-made themed outfits made from recycled materials. The “Project Runaway” winner was Carmella Mars (Shane Erickson). That part of the show

replaced the typical dance routine, and the contestants’ outfits were made by

members of the local community.
“One of the reasons why we chose to do that was we wanted more community invo

lvement,” said Ade Miller, who along with Jesse James and Jim Miller directed the pageant. “It was awesome to see the community come together, and they had fun making the costumes.”
