Danny “Dan” Wahl, age 65 of Madison passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, May 29, 2022. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, MN. Visitation will be on Monday, June 6 at Faith Lutheran Church from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Willow Lake Lutheran Cemetery in Rural Tracy.
Danny Allen Wahl was born to Harley and Jane (Carr) Wahl in Westbrook, MN on March 13, 1957. He was baptized in Walnut Grove on May 29, 1957. Dan was confirmed in Walnut Grove in 1972. During high school, Dan worked on the family farm. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1975. After graduation, he attended college at Red Wing Vo-tech for Agricultural Banking graduating in 1976. Dan started his banking career in Marshall at First National Bank.
Dan was united in marriage to Joanne Thompson on October 21, 1978. Dan and Joanne had two children. Over the years he worked at a bank in Ellendale, ND and at Klein Bank in Madison, MN. Additionally he did agricultural consulting work as well as worked on a variety of farms. Dan’s last career was driving truck for Viessman Trucking.
Dan was active at Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a part of the Faith Builders. Dan enjoyed watching Disney movies, Nascar races as well as the Hallmark Channel. Dan also liked to hunt and fish. Dan’s children and grandchildren brought him great joy and he attended as many of their events as he could.
Dan is survived by his mother Jane of Lake Shetek, MN, daughter Jennifer (Josh) of Balaton, MN, and son Benjamin (CaSandra) of Watertown, SD, and his sister Becky (Mark) Beers of Rapid City, SD and sister-in-law, Gwen Wahl of Currie, MN. He is survived by 7 grandchildren: Jayden, Avery, Ayren, Brock, Boden, Ayda and Adelyne as well as his nieces and nephews. Dan is preceded in death by his father, Harley and his brothers, Dennis, and Bruce.
