It was a milestone year for two TMB senior basketball players and an overall successful one for the team as a whole.
Guards Trevor Smith and Alex Munson eclipsed the 2,000- and 1,000-point mark, respectively, and the high-scoring Panther team won 21 games — tied for third most in program history — en route to the Camden Conference South title.
The Panthers were known this year for their scoring proclivity, once hitting the 100-point mark, and five times scoring at least 90 points.
TMB at one point won nine straight games before tough losses to Springfield and Dawson-Boyd to end the regular season.
The 2024-25 campaign was cut short at the hands of Murray County Central, which clipped the Panthers at the buzzer in the first round of the Sub-Section 3A tournament, as TMB for once struggled to score.
Smith led the Panthers this year in scoring, averaging 26.7 points per game, followed by Munson (17.1) and Griffin Zick (10.5).
Smith shot 45% from the field and made 104 out of 289 three-point attempts while playing the second most minutes. Munson, who led the team in minutes with 877, averaged 10.1 rebounds, 6.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game as well as he developed into one of the area’s most diverse guards. Zick averaged 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
Smith was named Camden Conference South MVP and was an academic all-conference winner, along with Noah Knakmuhs, Munson, Connor Lanoue, Eli Lightfoot and Griffin Zick. Zick, Knakmuhs and Munson made the Camden Conference South All-Conference team, and Smith was tabbed the Camden South MVP.
