SPRING SPORTS PREVIEW / GOLF
The growing TMB golf team might still be considered small in numbers compared to other schools, but that doesn’t mean expectations are small.
This year’s Panther golf team returns a state qualifier from a year ago in senior Alex Munson, as well as a golfer who was just two strokes off the pace at the end of last year’s section tournament in his sister, Taylor.
The older Munson was an All-Conference selection last year and finished second overall in the Section 3A Tournament to make it to Pebble Creek and will lead the charge for the boys’ team.

We have a lot of young golfers — 10 seventh- and eighth-graders. We’re looking for overall continued improvement. We have two golfers that have a chance to make it to state and a number of golfers looking to lower their scores.”
Other returning golfers looking to make an impact this year include sophomore Trenton Johnson and senior Piper Schulte. The third senior on the team is Mason Anderson. TMB didn’t lose any golfers to graduation from last year’s team.
“Trenton Johnson made big improvements last year on the boys side,” said coach Munson. “Piper Schulte is a senior and works hard during the season. This is a fun group. They enjoy golfing together, and it should be a fun season. We need to manage our golf game while improving. We will be working on controlling our swing path to maximize each shot. From there, it is honing in our distance control and short game.”
