The United Way of Southwest Minnesota (UWSWMN) is in the process of granting out funds for our 2025-26 Community Partners.
Community Impact Grants play a crucial role in our region by providing essential funding to local nonprofits.
These grants enable organizations to implement programs that address pressing community issues, enhance the quality of life, and promote social equity. The impact of these grants extends beyond financial support; they also validate the missions of the recipient organizations and foster opportunities for collaboration and networking. Last year, we are proud to have supported the following 10 agencies and their 14 impactful programs:
• Junior Achievement
• Lutheran Social Services – Meals and Meals on Wheels
• Marshall Food4Kids
• New Horizons – Crime Victims Service & Parenting Time Self Pay
• SMSU Mustang Market
• Prairie Five Community Action – Prairie Five Meals
• ServeMN – Reading Corps
• United Community Action Partnership – The Kitchen Table Food Shelf, The Refuge, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, & Youth Development Program.
• SWWC Foundation for Innovation in Education • WoMen’s Rural Advocacy Program These programs span various focus areas, including youth opportunity, healthy communities, financial security, and community resilience. Each program has been carefully selected based on its potential to impact on the lives of residents in our service area significantly.
We seek dedicated volunteers to join our Community Impact Grant Review Panel. As a panel member, you will play a vital role in determining how our funds are invested back into the community. Volunteer responsibilities include reviewing grant proposals, participating in group interviews with applicants, and making funding recommendations to the UWSWMN Board of Directors.
Important Dates: Volunteer Orientation: April 16, from 3:30-5 p.m.
Panel Reviews held between: April 29-May 21
