TAHS band & choir at contest
The Tracy Area High School band and choir took part in the Solo and Ensemble Music Contest at Lakeview High School last Thursday. Here are the results: Choir: Kristin Arellano- superior “Shenandoah,” Miranda Larsen- superior “Homeward Bound,” Eli Lembke- superior “Poor Wayfarin’ Stranger,” Jack Willhite- superior “The Fire Down Below,” Nou Thao- superior “The Water is Wide,” Chloe Sweetman- superior “To the Sky,”Xander Brinkley- superior “Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair, and Marcus Vuesuperior “All Through the Night.”
Band: Kaden Hookom, alto saxophone solo - superior “Gavotte;” Jack Willhite and Ashton Daniels, trumpet duet - excellent “Austrian Dance;” Cohen Radke, baritone saxophone solo - excellent “Three Renaissance Pieces;” Elsie Knott, Cohen Radke, Noah Schmidt, Owen Beier, low brass ensemble - excellent “Chorale and Clog Dance;” Owen Beier, trombone solo - superior “Two German Dances;” and Ashley Arellano, clarinet solo - superior “Swan Lake.”
