After a couple perfect days to close out last week, things got ugly over the weekend when a system moved into the area. It didn’t involved much snow, but it was a clear indication Old Man
Winter isn’t through with us yet.
And so was the weather Tuesday — we could only have wished it was an April Fools joke — when snow fell throughout most of the day during our second winter weather advisory in four days. This system again included a mix of rain and snow, at times heavy. The area received a small amount of snow before the winds kicked in later.
The precipitation turned to all rain Wednesday, which turned into heavy, wet snow by late morning, resulting in 1.5 more inches of snow.
Looking ahead, we’ll warm up to 60 degrees by April 9, with temps continuing to rise during the second half of next week, all the way to the mid-60s by the weekend under partly cloudy skies. Temps will fluctuate for the rest of the month between 50-60 degrees, with overnight lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s. It’s still early, but there looks to be plenty of chances of rain coming our way toward the penultimate week of April. We won’t see the 70s until May after the mercury hit 79 on March 28 , only to plummet to 37 degrees the following day.
