The National Weather Service on Wednesday issued a “near critical fire conditions” alert for that afternoon for the southwest corner of Minnesota — from I-90, north to Cottonwood.
That was the tradeoff for an otherwise beautiful day, as highs hit the mid-70s.
Today (April 17) brings a chance of rain and possibly a crack or two of thunder with highs in the mid-60s. Things will clear out after that, but temps are not expected to reach 60 degrees. That won’t happen again until Monday.
Highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s will continue for the next two weeks, with lows in the upper 30s.
