Alex Munson took first place after a slow start at a triangular with Jackson County Central and Windom in Windom. Munson carded a 5-over 41. Trenton Johnson finished with a 52.
For the girls, Taylor Munson shot a 51 for third place and Piper Schulte had a 65.
“Alex started off bad in his first meet going 4-over on the first two holes, but he came on strong to finish 5-over total to take first place,” TMB coach Michael Munson said. “Trenton Johnson had a lot of good shots and some he would like to take back, finishing with a 52 in his first meet of the year. Taylor Munson started off very strong with a birdie on the first hole and was 4-over through the first four holes. She got into trouble on holes 6 and 9 to finish with a 51. Piper Schulte improved from her Worthington score to shoot a 65.”
Sophomore Brooklyn Elsen shot 70, taking first in her junior varsity debut.
On April 10 against a tough field in Granite Falls, Alex Munson was 4th with a 40 and Johnson shot a 53 in the Panthers’ first conference meet of the year. Taylor Munson had a solid 47, good for second place, and Schulte had a 55 for ninth place.
In Worthington on April 11, Alex Munson held a lead after 10 holes (1 under par at that point) and took fourth out of 73 golfers with an 82. Johnson finished strong to shoot a 55-48=103 and took 57th place.
