64 to graduate this weekend from TAHS

All eyes will be on the Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Class of 2019 on Sunday during the 126th Commencement Exercise.

Commencement exercises will begin at 2 p.m. at Tracy Area High School and are open to the public.

Bobbi Jo Evers will give the welcome speech. Other class speakers will be Cassidy Smith (“past”), Kallie Benson (“present”), Samantha Edwards (“future”) and Fritz Landherr (“farewell”).

The valedictorian and salutatorian will be announced during the ceremony, as will this year’s gold chord honor students.  Class officers are Brooklyn Ludeman, Smith, Cayden Buysse and Landherr.

The Tracy Area High School concert band, under the direction of Brittani Klaverkamp, will perform “Drums of the Saamis,” with a flute solo by Page Anderson, while the senior high choir, led by Wendy Johnson will sing “When Dreams Take Flight.”

The motto for the Class of 2019 is “Together, we have experienced life. Separately, we will pursue our dreams. Forever, our memories will remain.”

The class flower is the magnolia, and the class colors are blue and silver. The class song is “Where I Go” by Miley Cyrus.

Eighty-six percent of this year’s graduating class has indicated their intentions to pursue a college degree.
