Not even a global pandemic could prevent jolly old St. Nick from visiting area youth this weekend

In an exclusive interview with the Tracy Area Headlight Herald, Santa Claus himself expressed how happy he was to be able to visit with kids from the area Saturday.

Jolly old St. Nick himself made a return trip to Tracy’s Greenwood Nursery on Saturday to reunite with the kids and find out what they wanted for Christmas this year. And this year, he said, because of how everyone’s lives have been turned upside down because of the pandemic, it was more important than ever for him to be able to get together with the little ones.

“It’s the hardest on the kids,” Santa said between visits from local children. “It’s hard on everybody — it’s hard on businesses, but it’s really hard on the kids, because they don’t understand everything that’s going on. It’s bad enough that they’re not always able to see their friends, not able to run and play like they normally would and not  able to go to school like normal.”

Mr. Claus said visiting him a few weeks before the big day gives them a “little bit of normal.”
