Larry Moyars was born on June 21, 1940 to Lawrence and Margaret (Smiley) Moyars in Tracy, Minnesota.   He grew up on the family farm northeast of Amiret.  Larry graduated from Tracy High School in 1958.  In 1959, Larry was involved in a car accident that left him with physical struggles the rest of his life.  After the accident, he returned to the family farm with his dad and continued to farm.  Larry met and married Alvina Buetow on May 13, 1973.  The couple made a family on the farm with Alvina’s children Kim, Tamie and Todd.  In 1975, Chad was born to complete the family.  After the farming crisis of the 1980’s, Larry and Alvina moved their family to Tracy and purchased the Eastside Store.   Larry worked various labor jobs throughout the years.  Larry always enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee and a cookie or two.   He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and tinkering around the garage.  In his later years, after retiring, he spent time sitting and napping on the deck and spending time with his four legged friends.   Larry joyously watched his grandchildren grow and explore the world.

Larry is survived by his wife Alvina of 47 years; children: Chad (Sue Ann) Moyars of Tracy, Kim Coquyt of Marshall, Tamie (Ray) Whitaker of Canby, and Todd Krueger of Tracy; grandchildren: Kendra & Kailee Moyars, Heather & Heidi Johnson, Eric Krueger, Andy & Brandon Stripling and Katie Halverson, Amanda Goettig, and Dakota & Chantelle Krueger; and sister Edith Swanson of Walnut Grove. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Zola Dilly and Grace Newton and son-in-law Terry Stripling.
