66 TAHS seniors primed to take their next step

Sixty-six Tracy Area High School seniors will close the current chapter of their lives at Sunday’s 129th Commencement at 2 p.m.

Ian Her will give the welcome to attendees following the processional played by the TAHS band, under the direction of band director Brittani Klaverkamp. Other speakers include: Caitlyn Deveraux (past), Lauren Zick (present) and Annaka Hook (future). Paraprofessional Mary Sweetman will turn the tassels.

The band will also play “The Witch and the Saint” by Steven Reinke, and will be followed by the presentation of honor students, the valedictorian and salutatorian announcement and the presentation of the Class of 2022 by TAHS Principal Kathy Vondracek.

The presentation of diplomas by Supt. Chad Anderson, board chair Rod Benson and board member Ben Ludeman will follow. Delaynie Meyer will give the farewell speech.

This year’s class motto is Carpe Diem; the class song is “Fireflies” by Owl City, and the class flower is Bird of Paradise. Class officers are Marissa Johnson (president), Annaka Hook (vice-president), Ethan Zeug (secretary) and Camille Dolan (treasurer).
