The Community Center Workforce Group last Thursday met for the first time in nearly four months to discuss a number of different topics and issues related to a new center.
Last week’s two-plus hour meeting was similar to previous gatherings as far as talking points.
Myriad topics were discussed after the two “sides” of the group cleared up some confusion over whether or not the council had given the five other members its blessing to move forward with fundraising. The five-team task force said they were unsure they were able to go ahead with fundraising for the project because of a perceived lack of support from the council.
“We haven’t had any opportunity to do fundraising because we haven’t had your approval,” said CCWG member Jeanine Vandendriessche. “We’re working on this together, that’s what I’d really like to stress — we’re doing this together for our city.”
