A partnership between the City of Tracy and a Marshall business has come to fruition.

And just in time.

Hundreds of bottles of Boxcar Brew craft beer rolled off the line at Brau Bros. last Wednesday morning, a little more than a week before Tracy’s 95th Box Car Days celebration.

“We got it done by Box Car Days — that was our main intent,” Boxcar Liquors manager Tam Schons said after teaming up with Tracy Mayor Pam Cooreman on catching the bottles right off the line and placing them in boxes last Wednesday at Brau Bros.

Box Car Brew is a craft beer produced and bottled at Brau Bros. in Marshall. It is considered a light beer with a calorie count of 96. Schons presented the idea of the Tracy-based label to the Tracy City Council back in May. She said this is the first time Brau Bros. has produced a private brew for a city.
