With a goal of maintaining everyone’s mental and physical health and, in the process, giving residents a place to gather, Lewis Family Drug of Tracy last week made a pledge of $25,000 to the Tracy Area Community Center Fund.

The donation pledge continues the momentum the Community Center Workforce Group has built over the last year-plus, an effort to raise enough money for an $850,000 center to be built on the site that was once home to the Masonic Lodge.

“We’re excited to be involved in the community and to start something healthy,” said Sami Boeck of Lewis Drug. “This is for everyone in the community, so it’s kind of fun to see this moving forward.”

Boeck said one of the nice things about the process of building — and using — a new community center is that it’s something that everyone can have a stake in.
