3 hours late? That’s a first

Students at Tracy schools on Monday were part of a little bit of history this week, as the district opted for a three-hour late start after declaring a two-hour late start Sunday.

“This is the first time I have ever done this,” Tracy Area Public Schools Supt. Chad Anderson said Monday. “However, because we have had so many snow days, the principals, transportation director, and food service director and I discussed this option prior to (Monday) because we value in-school, in person learning whenever possible. Our goal is to get our children to school, serve them a hot lunch and allow them to see their teachers. As long as we felt it was safe and possible, we felt getting kids into the school was the best option for our kids.”
