Rascal on Rowland!

Tracy called in the “big guns” last Wednesday morning to take control of a volatile situation on Rowland St. A beaver somehow found its way into town, prompting a call from to DNR Conservation Officer Matthew Loftness to relocate the critter.

The city of Tracy has had more than its share of animal complaints over the years, but the one last Wednesday morning came as one big dam surprise.

Early Wednesday morning, a call came into Tracy Police Chief Jason Lichty about a beaver on the loose on Rowland St.

That’s right, a beaver.

“I was a cop in Tracy for three years … you always get deer, coyotes, I’ve seen opossums, raccoons, skunks, muskrats — but that was the first time I’ve ever seen a beaver in all the shifts I worked for Tracy PD,” said Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Matthew Loftness. “I never had a beaver call in town.”
